Patrick F. Henry
Frantz Patrick Henry est un artiste d’origine haïtienne vivant à Montréal depuis 2011. Diplômé de l’Université du Québec à Montréal en 2019, il a reçu une Bourse d’excellence en sculpture de la Fondation McAbbie pour son installation Je suis nouveau ici (2020).
Actif dans le milieu artistique de Montréal, il s’investit dans les centres d’artistes, notamment à DARE DARE, où il a siègé sur le conseil d’administration, le comité programmation et le comité de planification stratégique. Il est également membre au Centre Clark. Il collabore et apporte parfois un soutien technique en sculpture aux artistes.
Artiste pluridisciplinaire, il explore la thématique du « devenir » à travers la sculpture, la peinture, l’installation, la photo et l’animation. Par l’appropriation d’objets du quotidien déviés de leur fonction, ses œuvres se déploient le plus souvent sous la forme d’un site, invitant le spectateur à faire l’expérience de l’œuvre sur le mode d’une géographie sociale.
Frantz Patrick Henry is an artist of Haitian origin living in Montreal since 2011. Graduated from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2019, he received an Excellence Scholarship in Sculpture from the McAbbie Foundation for his installation “I Am New Here” (2020). Active in the artistic community of Montreal, he is involved in artist-run centers, notably at DARE DARE, where he servesd on the board of directors, the programming committee, and the strategic planning committee. He is also a member at Centre Clark. He collaborates and sometimes provides technical support in sculpture to other artists.
A multidisciplinary artist, he explores the theme of “becoming” through sculpture, painting, installation, photography, and animation. By appropriating everyday objects diverted from their function, his works often unfold in the form of a site, inviting the viewer to experience the work in the mode of a social geography.
